Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson recently discussed the band’s future plans, including a potential final album and major projects for 2027, in an interview on Andy Frasco’s World Saving Podcast.

Wilson shared her vision for what she considers the perfect timing for Heart to celebrate their legacy with one final record.

“I feel like this is the perfect time for Heart — like this year, next year — to make a victory lap out of our legacy,” Wilson said. “So I figure we need to make one more Heart album. And especially with these players that we have in the lineup right now in this band.”

The guitarist expressed enthusiasm about the current band’s musical capabilities and collaborative potential.

“We’re just really excited to play together, and there’s no kind of limits on what we could kind of pull off as musicians,” she continued. “So I’ve got a few songs, and Ann’s [Wilson, Heart singer and Nancy’s sister] working with those guys in her side band right now writing other songs. But I think I’m gonna want to make the last Heart album and do the victory lap and make 2027 mainly about the Heart film, the Heart documentary.”

Wilson’s comments suggest that 2027 will be a significant year for Heart, with plans focusing heavily on a documentary about the band’s career.

The potential final album would mark Heart’s return to the studio after nearly a decade of absence from recording new material. Blabbermouth reported that the band’s last studio album was 2016’s Beautiful Broken. This makes the upcoming project particularly significant for longtime fans.

Wilson has expressed particular confidence in Heart’s current touring lineup, which she describes as exceptional. AOL noted that Nancy was quick to point out that the band’s current lineup is “the best lineup ever.” The current members include Nancy Wilson on rhythm, lead and acoustic guitar, backing and lead vocals, Ann Wilson on lead vocals and flute, Ryan Wariner on lead and rhythm guitar, Ryan Waters on guitars, Paul Moak on guitars, keyboards and backing vocals, Tony Lucido on bass and backing vocals, and Sean Lane on drums.

The Wilson sisters have experienced a remarkable reunion in recent years. This was particularly highlighted by their performance with Heart’s original lineup at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Blabbermouth revealed that this marked their first performance together in 34 years. This demonstrates the enduring power of their musical partnership despite past differences.

Heart’s 2026 tour activities are already underway. The band launched their current tour on February 15. The timing of Wilson’s announcement about a potential final album aligns with this active touring period. This suggests the band is capitalizing on their current momentum and strong chemistry to create what could be their swan song recording.
