Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson has confirmed that the band’s long-awaited new studio album is nearly complete.
Wilson spoke candidly about the recording process and the state of the upcoming album. She revealed that the music has already been captured and a photo shoot is underway.
When asked about her signature pink hair, Wilson used the moment to share an update on the album’s progress.
“I got my pink on again! It was starting to fade out; there’s this one color that lasts forever, but it finally faded,” Wilson said. “The Heart album is almost finished up now, and the photo shoot was happening, so I was like, ‘I gotta get my pink on for the Heart thing,’ because the recording’s all done.”
Wilson also spoke enthusiastically about the quality of the material. She noted that the album was recorded with the same players from the band’s most recent tour.
“Yeah, it’s really, really strong. I think it’s going to be great,” she continued. “We wrote a bunch of new songs and recorded down in Nashville with the players that we just played the last tour with. It was like a secondhand thing with each other because we’ve played so many live shows, so the album was pretty much recorded live.”
When asked about a release date, Wilson outlined an ambitious rollout plan that extends well beyond just the album.
“Well, we’re delivering it at the end of August,” she said. “And so, with the world tour to set up and a documentary film to work on and a live-action feature film and an album and a tour and a new management company, we’re getting all of those ducks in a row, so that we can strategize the rollout.”
The new record marks Heart’s first studio album in over a decade. A full release strategy is still being finalized ahead of what appears to be a major comeback campaign for the legendary rock band.
The album’s delivery is set for the end of August, signaling that the project is now in its final handoff stage. The scope of what Heart is building around this release — a world tour, a documentary, a live-action feature film, and a new management structure — suggests the band is treating this as a full-scale relaunch rather than a simple album drop.
Heart’s last studio album was Beautiful Broken, released in 2016. The upcoming record will be their first new material in roughly a decade, and anticipation among the band’s fanbase has only grown in the years since.
The decision to record in Nashville with the band’s touring players was a deliberate creative choice. By working with musicians they had already spent extensive time with on the road, the Wilson sisters were able to capture a live energy in the studio that is often difficult to manufacture. That quality has long defined Heart’s most celebrated work.
Meanwhile, Ann Wilson has also been active on her own front. She has a new solo album, Consecrated Ground, due August 14, followed by a fall tour running from September through November. The parallel activity from both sisters underscores a broader creative resurgence for the Heart camp heading into the second half of 2026.
With recordings complete, a photo shoot done, and delivery imminent, a formal announcement from the band appears to be on the horizon. For a group with Heart’s legacy — spanning decades of arena rock, power ballads, and critical acclaim — the return could not come at a more fitting moment.
