Miranda Lambert has set the record straight on punching Chad Kroger in the face. She addressed the claim on Popcast, where she discussed her alleged 2010 bar fight with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroger.
Lambert was asked whether she really hit Kroger. The question came during the show’s snack segment, which closed with a true-or-false round.
The question was: “Last question during the snack. True or false? You hit Chad Kroger in the face.”
Lambert said the incident did not involve a punch. “I threw moonshine on his face,” she said. “I did do that. It was just a late night, and no one was in their best state.”
She then commented on where things stand between them now. “I mean I don’t know if we’re fine now, but I don’t care.”
Her answer settles a rumor that has followed both artists for more than a decade. The details of that night help explain why it stuck.
The incident dates back to early November 2010. It took place at Winners Bar & Grill in Nashville, where Lambert was celebrating her 27th birthday.
The story first surfaced in Us Weekly soon afterward. Kroeger had been pressing Lambert to take shots with him. She declined. The situation escalated from there. She threw her drink at him.
The early account also included a harsh remark. Kroeger told her she “didn’t have to be a bitch about it” after she turned down the drinks.
Lambert’s Popcast comments confirm only part of that version. She admitted to throwing the moonshine but denied hitting Kroeger. She also said she was nervous to answer the question.
