Mick Mars has made headlines for suing his former bandmates, it turns out his only regret about his time with Mötley Crüe is an album. When asked if he had any regrets over joining the band in the first place, the guitarist told Rolling Stone:

“Not really. We were different when we came out of the Sunset Strip. The rough spots were rough spots and hard to deal with, but I got to see the world and play with a group that was this successful. So I don’t regret anything besides ‘Generation Swine.'”

Although the legal battle has been rough on both parties, the guitarist recalled in the interview that he hardly played on the band’s last three albums, which include ‘Generation Swine’ he added:

“I don’t think there’s one note that I played. They didn’t want my guitar to sound like a guitar, basically. They wanted it to sound like a synthesizer. I felt so useless. I’d do a part, they’d erase it, and somebody else would come in and play.”

Aside from his former bandmates, who made the album production process difficult for Mick, he didn’t like the industrial-sounding direction they were going for with the album, leading to self-doubt as he told The Pit late last year:

“I didn’t like any of the songs on that album. I had a really rough time and every time I came up with a part it was always wrong. I always got criticized and my self-confidence got way down. It still eats at me, when I’m playing live and when I’m in the studio I still have that self doubt. That album f*cked me up.”
