Mick Jagger Addresses The Main Challenge Of The Upcoming Rolling Stones Tour
Rolling Stone’s frontman Mick Jagger recently spoke about their upcoming tour during an interview with Rolling Stone. The singer revealed that one of the biggest challenges while touring is to prepare a setlist that pleases everyone.
Despite the Rolling Stones’ ongoing presence in the music world for 60 years, they proved that the stage is their home, and they are reluctant to give it up as they are getting ready for their upcoming tour. Without cutting off their pace, the band will hit the road on June 1 and last until the end of July 2022.
Although the band collected a lot of disapproval from fans for continuing to perform after their drummer Charlie Watts died in summer 2021, they didn’t let this drag them down and continued regardless. Following the conclusion of the current tour they are on, they scheduled a two-month tour for the summer.
While they’re working on their songs for the tour, Mick Jagger recently stated that it’s complicated to please everyone with the setlist. The singer revealed that the band wants to be ‘adventurous’ and try new things occasionally. Still, people come to their concerts for specific songs naturally and get bored if they are too adventurous.
According to Rolling Stone, Jagger said:
“You always got to do some things for yourself. That’s one of the things I’m working on. It should be easy, but it’s not as easy as all that to get ones that everyone likes and goes for. It’s the common denominator of getting 50,000 people to want to hear a song that they want. You want to be adventurous, and you can be adventurous for a minute, but you can’t be adventurous for too long because they get bored.”
It might be disappointing to hear slightly newer things for fans since the Stones are especially a band that people come specifically to listen to their classics. They set their presence with their cult songs and performances for over half a century, and the fans’ expectations are very high, and they are often looking for something familiar.
