Steel Panther vocalist Michael Starr has confirmed that the band is working on new music set to arrive next spring, speaking on The Mighty VH podcast.
Starr discussed the band’s upcoming album and shared details about its release timeline and what fans can expect in the coming months.
“Steel Panther’s got a brand new record coming out,” Starr said. “It’s untitled at this moment, but it is mastered. All the songs are done.”
He added that the band is in the final stages of preparation. “We’re working on the artwork right now, and it’s gonna drop spring 2027, and a tour will ensue after that. And we’re gonna be dropping singles probably in February.”
The comments were made as Steel Panther prepares to roll out new material from the band.
The new album follows Steel Panther’s 2023 release “On The Prowl,” making this upcoming record their seventh studio album. In May 2026, the band released “The Mother’s Day Song,” their first original music in three years and their debut single for new label Frontiers Music Srl. The track served as an early preview of what listeners can expect from the full album.
Steel Panther recorded the new material at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 with longtime producer Jay Ruston, who has worked with the band on many of their previous albums. The band’s history of collaboration with Ruston spans years of successful releases.
In October 2024, Steel Panther’s debut album “Feel The Steel” was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry, marking sales in excess of 100,000 copies in the United Kingdom. The band also released a 15th-anniversary edition of that debut album in November 2024. These milestones underscore the enduring appeal of the band’s catalog to fans worldwide.
