Metallica held their fourth Helping Hands Concert and Auction on Friday night in Los Angeles.

The event was hosted at YouTube Theater, with all proceeds going to the band’s All Within My Hands Foundation. The event was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, and it saw a range of famous faces in attendance, including Aquaman actor Jason Momoa and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, both walking the black carpet.

The show kicked off with SistaStrings, a classically trained violin and cello duo, followed by an all-star quartet featuring Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Kenny Aronoff.

They kicked off the acoustic portion with ‘Low Man’s Lyric,’ a song they hadn’t played since 1998 and later performed ‘The Unforgiven II’ for the first time since 2015. The set also featured Bachman–Turner Overdrive’s ‘Away From Home,’ Diamond Head’s ‘Helpless,’ and Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament joined them for a performance of ‘Hit The Lights.’

The setlist also included ‘If Darkness Had a Son,’ ‘Nothing Else Matters,’ ‘Orion,’ ‘The Shortest Straw,’ ‘Until it Sleeps,’ ‘Screaming Suicide,’ ‘Fuel,’ and ‘Master Of Puppets.’

All Within My Hands Foundation was founded in 2017, and it aims to build sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, combating hunger, and assisting with other critical local services. The foundation has raised over $15 million. This includes $8.2 million in grants for career and technical education programs, such as the innovative Metallica Scholars Initiative, now in its sixth year. The foundation has also contributed over $3.6 million to fight food insecurity and more than $3.5 million to disaster relief efforts.

The concert will be made available on December 19.
