Metallica Mourns The Death Of Megaforce Records Co-Founder By Saying ‘Thank You For Everything’

Metallica shared a post on their official Instagram page paying tribute to the co-founder of Megaforce Records, Marsha Zazula, after her passing at the age of 68, in addition to thanking her for everything since the record label released early albums of Metallica.

As you may know, Megaforce Records is an independent record label founded in 1982 by Jon Zazula and his wife Marsha Zazula to publish the first works of Metallica in addition to other successful bands such as Anthrax, The Black Crowes, and Overkill.

Metallica’s debut album, ‘Kill ‘Em All,’ in July 1983, and the second studio album ‘Ride the Lightning’ in July 1984, were both released by Megaforce Records which made them the first record label to publish Metallica albums, however, Metallica started to work with Elektra Records in 1984, shortly after the release of the second album.

Recently, the heartbreaking news of the passing of Marsha Zazula at the age of 68 was announced by her own record label. The cause of her death was announced as cancer and Marsha passed away at her home in Florida on Saturday.

After the devastating news, the official Instagram page of Metallica shared a recent picture of Marsha and Jon Zazula in addition to frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich on their official Instagram page sharing a farewell message to the deceased Marsha Zazula. The band expressed its gratitude towards Marsha and sent their love to the Zazula family.

Here is what the band said:

“Rest In Peace, Marsha. Thank you for everything.

Much love to Jon Zazula & the Zazula family.”
