Metallica Finally Collaborates With Miley Cyrus To Play Nothing Else Matters

Metallica recently surprised their fans by performing ‘Nothing Else Matters’ with Miley Cyrus live during The Howard Stern Show.

‘Nothing Else Matters’ is one of the most popular and appreciated songs of Metallica. It features slow-paced notes compared to the other tracks created by the band, and it was released as a single for the ‘Black Album’ in 1992.

In 2019, Miley showed her interest in metal music, especially Metallica, by covering ‘Nothing Else Matters’ during her Glastonbury show. The cover attracted a lot of attention, and while some metal fans appreciated her efforts, others criticized her shift from pop and country to metal.

Following this successful cover, Cyrus worked with Elton John, Rob Trujillo, Chad Smith, Yo-Yo Ma, and WATT, to release a studio version of ‘Nothing Else Matters,’ which dropped two months ago. This brought up the idea of collaboration between the two music icons once again.

On September 7, Metallica announced some thrilling news to their fans. The metal icons revealed they will finally perform ‘Nothing Else Matters’ with Miley Cyrus on The Howard Stern Show, which millions have been waiting for since 2019. However, the cover version was almost the same as the original. Miley sang most of the song, while James Hetfield accompanied her in the chorus parts.
