Megadeth’s New Bassist Hides Behind A Chair In Dave Mustaine’s Recent Video

Megadeth frontman and co-founder, Dave Mustaine, has recently shared a video on Cameo in which he was at the studio to work on the band’s upcoming 16th studio album. Although the band’s new bassist, who replaced David Ellefson, was also in the video, he didn’t show his face by hiding behind a chair.

As you might remember, Megadeth previously revealed that they started working on the new album. However, the band’s bassist David Ellefson was accused of having sexual intercourse with an under-aged fan girl after his video had been leaked. Ellefson faced a serious backlash from the fans due to the video even though he defended himself saying that the girl had consent and he didn’t force her to do anything.

Thus, Megadeth decided to part ways with their bassist David Ellefson and his departure was announced by the band’s frontman Dave Mustaine. The band began looking for a new bassist to replace the basses, which were originally recorded by the former bassist, for the new album of the band. Mustaine has recently revealed that they found the new bassist of ‘The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!.’

Dave Mustaine uploaded a new video on Cameo after he stated that they rerecorded all basses with their new bassist. In the video which he shot during the recording process of the upcoming album, Mustaine said that their new bassist was there too. However, Megadeth’s new bassist hid behind a chair not to reveal his identity during the shooting and Mustaine added that everyone will find out the name of the new bassist soon.

Mustaine said in his video that:

“I’m walking around the studio right now. That’s Chris Rakestraw sitting back there on the console. And you’ve got our mystery bass player hiding behind the chair down there on the floor, so you can’t see him. But we will be saying who that is soon. And you actually saw him before anybody else — even though you can’t really see him.
