“I have huge appreciation for Dave,” Mäntysaari said. “It’s super-exciting to have my name printed in the [album] booklet; that’s probably only going to hit when you actually see the physical product.”

The guitarist emphasized his focus on making the most of the remaining time with the band.

“But I haven’t thought about it too much; I’m just living in the moment and making the best of the time we have,” he continued. “And the farewell tour isn’t going to be short; we’re going to go everywhere.” Early tour dates include North America in summer 2026. Europe and Asia will follow.

This farewell announcement marks the end of an era for one of thrash metal’s most influential bands. Megadeth prepares to close a chapter that has spanned over three decades of groundbreaking music.

The extensive farewell tour plans reflect the band’s commitment to giving fans worldwide a proper goodbye. Mäntysaari’s confirmation that the tour “won’t be short” suggests that Megadeth intends to visit multiple continents and numerous cities. This ensures that their global fanbase has opportunities to witness their final performances.

The timing of this farewell comes as the band continues to maintain their relevance in the metal scene. Mäntysaari’s integration into the band for their final album demonstrates Megadeth’s dedication to maintaining their musical standards.
