Maynard James Keenan Makes A Playlist For An Extraordinary Reason

Tool’s Maynard James Keenan has shared a video on his Instagram which revealed a playlist he made for something unusual.

Maynard James Keenan is a renowned musician who has been working with three bands named Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer. He is best known as the singer and songwriter of the Tool, and he released five studio albums with the band. Formed in 1990 by Keenan and Adam Jones, the award-winning band Tool is still active on the music scene. Moreover, Maynard’s most recent musical effort is with Puscifer, for the album ‘Existential Reckoning.’

As you may know, Keenan is also interested in making wine in addition to his music career. He owns Merkin Vineyards and Caduceus Cellars in Arizona. Recently, it appears that he is concentrated on making wine rather than making music. Looking through Keenan’s social media accounts, the majority of his posts are about winemaking. Moreover, considering his recent Instagram post, it seems Keenan is taking the winemaking business kind of seriously.

According to Keenan’s latest Instagram post, he plays a specific playlist for his wine grapes. In the post, he revealed that he chooses several artists to serenade the grapes during the winemaking process. Keenan then stated that he includes these tracks and artists on the tasting note cards of the wines.

Maynard James Keenan’s Instagram post read:

“When Grapes arrive, I choose what artists we will play to serenade them during their transition. These tracks/artists are then included on the tasting note cards at Caduceus Cellars in Jerome and in the Velvet Slippers Club shipments. List changes every year.”

The playlist Keenan shared includes Gillian Welch, Devo, PJ Harvey, Queens Of The Stone Age, Portishead, Ralph Stanley, Moodie Black, Viagra Boys, Marvin Gaye, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, and more.
