Max Cavalera discussed the upcoming Soulfly album in a recent interview with Nikos Mixas.
The Soulfly frontman revealed the band’s recording progress and upcoming release plans.
“We’re working on the new record right now. It’s going good, man. We’re taking our time to do it right. We are in the process of finishing the recordings right now, and then we’re gonna start getting stuff mixed and finding the songs that are gonna go on all the socials, Spotify and all that jive,” Cavalera said.
He elaborated on the album’s release timeline and tour plans: “Right now I think we’re looking at October. That’s they’re talking about. And we do have a European tour that starts in June. It goes from June to late July. We are gonna be playing one or two songs of the new record on that tour, which I think is great. Anytime I had a chance to do that, it’s been great.”
The band will preview new material during their European tour before the album’s October release.
This release represents a major milestone in Soulfly’s musical journey.
Blabbermouth revealed that this 13th studio album has particularly excited Cavalera during its development.
Metal Injection noted that the new album captures their 1998 debut’s adventurous spirit. The sound has evolved to feature heavier elements and more intricate arrangements.
The band is finalizing the recording process. They are carefully selecting tracks for digital platforms while preserving their signature heavy grooves and attitude.
The European tour runs from June to late July 2025. During these shows, the band will debut select tracks from the new album. This preview will showcase their evolved sound ahead of the official release.
