Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus and Taylor Swift seem to be close friends.

The bassist took to Instagram to share the pop singer’s book, ‘The Eras Tour Book,’ along with the handwritten letter she sends with every purchase of it.

In the letter, Swift mentioned her favorite memories from the Eras Tour and thanked her fans. Hoppus shared the letter in a story and wrote, “Thank you Taylor Swift.”

In February this year, Hoppus attended a Taylor Swift show, joking that people should have come to his show instead. “I’m about to go on stage, I’m really disappointed with everybody in here because this is the Taylor Swift show. You should have gone to see Blink! Should have gone to see Blink-182. Right next door. Could have seen Blink tonight, just saying.”

On the opening night of her Sydney Eras Tour concert, Swift drew a crowd of 81,000 people at Accor Stadium. However, right next door at Qudos Bank Arena Blink-182 was putting on their sold-out show for 21,000 attendees. According to Google Maps, the two venues were seven minutes away from each other.

Of course, the video had no bad intentions behind it, as Hoppus later met Taylor Swift in person. After the playful exchange, Hoppus likely went to Qudos Bank Arena for Blink-182’s show. During the day, he got to meet Swift and shared a photo on Instagram of himself with Swift and his wife. “You need to calm down,” he captioned it.

Blink-182 is scheduled to play at the When We Were Young Fest on October 18 next year.
