Machine Gun Kelly Will Be Celebrated On ‘MGK’ Day At The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame adds another rocker to their roster. Although Machine Gun Kelly will have to wait a few years to inaugurate officially, the singer will be celebrated at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 13, on ‘MGK Day.’
Machine Gun Kelly changed genres with his commercially successful album. After his fifth album, ‘Tickets To My Downfall,’ he left the hip-hop sound and started making pop-punk music. He teamed up with Blink-182’s Travis Barker for this album, giving it more recognition in the rock scene.
After a couple of whirlwind years, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will host an MGK display featuring various items borrowed from the musician. One of the borrowed items is the Tickets to My Downfall outfit. Another is his Schecter PT Model electric guitar alongside his custom Cupid microphone stand and pink microphone. The exhibition will be in the ‘Right Here, Now’ area of Rock Hall, where fans can see the punk-rocker’s belongings in person.
To further celebrate ‘MGK Day,’ there will be live music and events at Rock Hall’s Union Home Mortgage plaza. There will be performances by previous Tri-C High School Rock Off winners Seeing Scarlet, Detention, Montage, and former Rock Off contestant Little G Fresh. Also, the Cleveland Contemporary Youth Orchestra will perform. Finally, DJ Ace will attend to keep the party going between sets.
The rocker is on the ‘Mainstream Sellout Tour’ to promote the album along with his household hits. The tour is expected to continue in Europe in the fall.
