Kid Rock criticized government workers for complaining about a recent work-related request from the Department of Goverment Efficiency. He responded to critics by posting an example of one of his employee’s daily work reports.
“DOGE has asked government employees to send five things they did LAST WEEK (boo-hoo). I ask my staff to do this every day—not just five things, but all tasks completed—so everyone knows what’s going on, and it cuts down on constant questions, emails, etc. It’s called being efficient (DUH!),” the singer wrote on his Facebook page.
One of the said employees’ list included tasks like emptying trash, feeding animals, cleaning stalls, and checking HVAC systems. They also handled water leaks, refueled vehicles, and coordinated with security to lock and arm buildings. “He doesn’t cry about doing it!” Kid Rock added.
CBS News recently reported that federal workers received an email from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) asking them to list five things they had did in the past week. Elon Musk, who oversees the White House’s Department of Government Efficiency, said on X that those who don’t respond would risk losing their jobs. However, multiple government agencies told employees they didn’t have to reply to the request.
In a follow-up post, Musk said the requirement wasn’t difficult. “The bar is very low here. An email with some bullet points that make any sense at all is acceptable! Should take less than 5 mins to write,” he wrote.
