Lzzy Hale recently went on Instagram to send a New Year’s message to the Halestorm fans. In her post, she shared a video of her improvising a guitar solo on stage and wrote:
“Moonwalking my way into 2024. What about you? This is an excerpt from one of our improvised jams. It’s a place I feel truly alive and terrified.”
Explaining her approach to making music, the singer continued:
“I have a basic knowledge of maybe how long we’ll go (this is why there is an 11-minute version of ‘Misery’ out there because we were watching a broken watch. Ha!), but other than that, I try to perform what I hear in my head, and often times it depends on the audience and what I feel they are being moved by. I never have a preconceived notion of where I’ll go next or even how we’ll end. Improv by definition.”
Improvise In Life, She Says

Earlier in 2023, Halestorm faced challenges with their tour plans in Europe due to COVID-19 restrictions. But they managed to perform in the UK and returned with a summer tour later in the year.
So, as an inspirational note for her followers, Hale’s post reflected on the past year:
“This is how I feel now in this moment at the end of 2023. I am not dwelling on the past, for I cannot change it, and I am not spiraling out about the future, for I cannot predict it. I am simply open to all the possibilities within this moment and will wield my weapon accordingly.”
The message went on:
“Because all of us have an incredible weapon inside of our souls. One that can be used for creation, change, compassion, forgiveness, and hope. It can equally and oppositely be used to destroy, harm, and spread hate. It knows no god; it is just a Power, a Tool, a Weapon… How will you use yours?”
Fan Reactions To The Singer’s Post

The Halestorm vocalist’s open letter sparked a series of responses in the comments section, with fans sharing their admiration for her words and revealing their band-related wishes. Someone thanked Hale, writing:
“Dude, thanks for sharing ur words and wisdom. True crime energy and power. I remember meeting u over ten years ago in Milwaukee, I think; it was like this restaurant… Anyway, ur so cool. So down to earth and make me strive for more with my own unique gifts of rocking enlightenment! Love you, Lzzy. Let’s go 2024!”
Others asked for new live shows from Halestorm, as one person commented:
“Amazing words, Lzzy. I hope they help all that read them. I hope y’all come to Texas in 2024. Rock on, Queen.”
Since the band went on their 2023 tour as a supporting act for Volbeat, another fan said:
“Wishing for a Halestorm headlining tour in ’24. Miss you all.”
Halestorm announced a few dates in New Zealand and Australia for March 2024, but there hasn’t been any official news about a full tour.
