A landscape lighter’s social media post revealed former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham’s private conversation about a potential band reunion on Facebook.

Buckingham discussed his upcoming projects and potential Fleetwood Mac reunion plans during a casual conversation with his landscape lighting contractor, Michael Gambino, at a job site.

“Lindsey Buckingham, Lead singer/Guitar player extraordinaire (solo and Fleetwood Mac) longtime client of Gambino Landscape Lighting (2 homes). Stopped by our job today and we spoke for about 1/2 hour,” Gambino said. “He’s got a new album coming out in the spring of next year along with a documentary about Fleetwood Mac.”

Gambino shared Buckingham’s response about a possible reunion: “I asked if there was a possibility that they would ever perform together again and he said that all depends upon Stevie (who is also a client of ours).”

Buckingham’s upcoming solo projects remain in progress. He has left the door open for a potential Fleetwood Mac reunion.

Recent developments in the Fleetwood Mac circle provide additional context to this conversation.

Consequence reported that Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood have reunited in the studio. This marks their first collaboration since Buckingham left the band in 2018. Buckingham has contributed guitar and vocals to Fleetwood’s solo album.

The possibility of a full band reunion faces several obstacles. Ultimate Classic Rock revealed Stevie Nicks’s hesitation to work with Buckingham. In a recent interview, she stated she could only tolerate talking to him for “three minutes” during Christine McVie’s celebration of life. She noted that she had given him “300 million chances” to resolve their issues.

Christine McVie’s passing in 2022 has further complicated the situation. American Songwriter noted that both Fleetwood and Nicks consider a reunion unlikely. Nicks has explicitly ruled out a farewell tour.

Buckingham continues to focus on his career development. His plans include releasing a new solo album and completing a documentary about Fleetwood Mac in the coming year.
