A 54-year-old woman accused of stalking former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has made shocking claims about their relationship. KTLA reported the details.
The woman, identified as Michelle Dick, spoke out following Buckingham’s recent assault in Santa Monica, California. Her statements revealed disturbing allegations about past harassment and a claimed family connection.
KTLA reported: “The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to KTLA that an attack occurred in Santa Monica and said its Threat Management Unit is working with the Santa Monica Police Department to investigate the incident. Buckingham and his family have dealt with past stalking issues involving a 54-year-old woman named Michelle Dick and previously secured a restraining order against her after years of alleged harassment and death threats.”
The report detailed the escalation of the alleged harassment campaign.
KTLA noted: “According to court documents, Dick began sending messages to Buckingham’s wife on her business phone, claiming she was going to kill them. The Buckinghams declined to press charges after police visited the woman and her behavior stopped.”
Dick then made her most startling claim about her connection to the musician.
“[I showed up at his house] one time, that was last year. But I didn’t know I had a restraining order on me,” Michelle Dick said. “He wasn’t a father to me but he’s my birth father.”
The recent incident adds another chapter to what has been an ongoing pattern of harassment spanning several years.
The Los Angeles Times revealed that the assault occurred when a woman tossed an unknown substance at Buckingham from a container as he entered a building for an appointment. Buckingham was not harmed in the incident. Law enforcement confirmed the woman is known to the musician from previous encounters.
The harassment campaign has been extensive and disturbing. The Los Angeles Times documented that in November 2024, Buckingham petitioned for the restraining order, citing Dick’s years of stalking behavior including loitering near his home, threatening voicemails, a photo collage taped to his mailbox, and a false emergency call claiming gunshots at his residence that led police to handcuff him.
Law enforcement sources indicate that police believe Dick learned details about Buckingham’s appointment schedule, suggesting premeditation in the recent attack. Louder Sound reported that authorities expect her arrest soon as the investigation continues.
The case highlights the ongoing challenges celebrities face with persistent stalkers and the limitations of restraining orders in preventing determined individuals from continuing their harassment campaigns. The case remains under investigation by both the Los Angeles Police Department’s Threat Management Unit and the Santa Monica Police Department.
