Lindsey Buckingham asks for a restraining order due to a scary stalker.
The musician says a woman named Michelle, 53, has been harassing him and his family for three years. Buckingham already has a temporary restraining order against her.
He also said police were sent to his house after a 911 call said his son, William, 26, wanted to hurt himself and that gunshots were heard. Police handcuffed Buckingham before they found out the 911 call was fake. The call was traced to Michelle’s phone.
Buckingham said the incident happened on November 3. He was sleeping at home when nearly a dozen police officers woke him up. The rocker explained, “When I answered the door, I was handcuffed and asked to step outside of my house.”
He continued, “The reason given was that a 911 call had been received stating that my son William was in my house and [wanting to harm himself] and that the caller had heard gunshot.”
“After about twenty minutes of the police searching my house and me outside in the cold handcuffed, I was let back into my house, shaken and fearful,” Lindsey revealed.
Buckingham further shared, “I now know that the 911 call was traced to [Michelle’s] phone and was the latest in an unabated pattern of harassment and threatening acts against my family and me.”
The trouble with Michelle started when she got his wife, Kristen Messner’s phone number and called her many times. She believed she was Lindsey’s daughter and made threats against his family.
Michelle was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Lindsey, Kristen, and their son William. The order is temporary until a hearing on December 20, where Lindsey will ask for a permanent restraining order.
Michelle had previously harassed them, sending a photo collage and showing up at their house. She made a fake 911 call, which led to police investigating her. Michelle admitted to the fake call and was warned about her actions.
A detective believes Michelle is mentally unstable and dangerous. Lindsey is afraid her behavior may escalate. The singer has been married to Kristen since 2000, and they have three children. They had filed for divorce in 2021 but later stopped the process.
