Liam Gallagher Thinks Taylor Hawkins’ Musical Ideas Are ‘A Bit Kinky’

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher gave an interview to NME in which he claimed the Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has somewhat kinky music ideas.

Liam Gallagher rose to fame as the frontman of Oasis between the years 1991 and 2009. After his tenure in the band, he fronted the band Beady Eye between 2009 and 2014. Gallagher then embarked on a solo music career in 2017 with the release of his debut solo record ‘As You Were’ which turned out to be a commercial success.

Gallagher’s second album ‘Why Me? Why Not’ received mostly positive reviews and topped the charts after its release in September 2019, like its predecessor. With this album, Gallagher made his tenth chart-topping album including eight albums with Oasis.

On October 1, 2021, Gallagher announced his third solo album titled ‘C’mon You Know,’ set for release on May 27, 2022. He also announced that he will perform at Knebworth Park on June 3 and 4, almost 26 years after he last performed there along with Oasis. Soon after this announcement, the tickets for these performances were sold out.

In the interview by NME, Liam Gallagher revealed that one of the songs that appear on the album, titled ‘Everything’s Electric’ was co-written by Grohl, and it was chosen at the suggestion of Taylor Hawkins. Moreover, Gallagher said that Hawkins’ musical ideas are quite different from his taste, and he thinks that they are a bit kinky.

Speaking to NME about Hawkins’ music taste, Liam Gallagher said the following:

They’re a fucking bit kinky, man. I’m like, ‘You don’t need me, man, you carry on doing that stuff.’”

Moreover, Gallagher announced that he will also perform at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on June 1, Ormeau Park in Belfast on June 24, and Hampden Park in Glasgow on June 26, 2022. His upcoming album ‘C’mon You Know’ also features various contributors, including Dave Grohl, Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, and his producer Greg Kurstin.
