Frances Bean Cobain welcomed her first child with husband Riley Hawk on September 17. Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s only daughter announced her son’s arrival on Instagram.
Revealing his name as Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk, she wrote under the newborn’s pictures, “Welcome to the world, most beautiful son. We love you more than anything.”
The black-and-white photos on Instagram included a shot of Ronin holding hands with Frances and another of Riley holding the baby outdoors with trees in the background.
The birth announcement attracted many comments and well-wishes from friends and family. Notably, Tony Hawk, Riley’s father and a retired professional skateboarder, joked, “My favorite grandson!”
Harper Grohl, whose father Dave Grohl was a bandmate of Kurt Cobain in Nirvana, responded to the post with heart and teary-eyed emojis.
Frances Bean first revealed her relationship with Riley in 2022 through Instagram photos. The couple married in October 2023. R.E.M.’s lead singer and Frances’ godfather, Michael Stipe, officiated the marriage.
