Sevendust is working on their new album.
“Things are in the works,” the band’s frontman Lajon Witherspoon told Chuck Armstrong recently on Loudwire Nights. “It’s so funny you’re talking about that right now.”
He continued, “Between everything — me and Morgan [Rose], we’re trying to put together a setlist for the Disturbed and the headlining run — we are now looking inside the Sevendust music box with 20 or so songs that we’re kind of weeding through right now to see what we like.”
Witherspoon also said they make their best music when they’re all together with their instruments. He added, “Just those young men, like we were when we first started. That’s where the magic happens.”
Sevendust’s latest album ‘Truth Killer’ arrived in July 2023. “I think it kind of sums up everything that’s going on in the world today,” the singer previously said of the title track. “At the end of the album, everyone asks, ‘Do you name the album at the beginning?’ It’s always at the end [for us].”
He stated, “‘Truth Killer’ kind of felt like it would be fitting for everything that’s going on in the world and everything that we’ve gone through, being part of the last two-and-a-half years. Getting back together—it kind of fits what’s going on and I hope everyone understands once they get deep into the album.”
“Every element of ‘Truth Killer’ is dialled in perfectly, powerful songwriting, beautifully constructed arrangements, and explosive production, resulting in a stellar musical journey that is so good, you can’t help but start it again once you finish,” Wall of Sound said in their album review.
In November, Sevendust announced 12 headlining shows for 2025 in the US. These will be during and after their tour with Disturbed. Horizon Theory will open for them. The shows will take place from late February to late March, including stops in Kansas City, Atlantic City, Virginia Beach, and Little Rock.
