For Kyle Garvey, music has become a way to bring together faith, personal loss and a dream he had wanted to pursue for years. With RockAgent, he has been able to turn that vision into finished music and begin building his own project as an artist.

Garvey, who releases music under the act name Christian Rap, recently put out the single “Christian Time.” The track arrives after a creative period shaped by prayer, a difficult separation from someone close to him and a growing belief that music was something he was meant to pursue.

“God drew me to it,” Garvey said of Christian rap. “He knew exactly what I needed and wanted through prayer and he gave it to me.”

That sense of direction became increasingly important as Garvey began developing his music. He says the project grew out of personal experiences, including the loss of a long friendship and relationship that continued to weigh on him.

“This album was really my life story,” he explained. “I have had a friend that I have been missing, but it’s deeper than that. I feel like God has shaped me and given me a vision to make music.”

Garvey says that vision gave him the confidence to pursue something he had wanted for a long time.

“When everything happened with my vision, it gave me an idea to do what I dreamed of, and that’s to make music,” he said.

Faith, Loss and Purpose

A major emotional influence on Garvey’s work came from a longtime friend and former girlfriend who eventually parted ways with him. He described the separation as difficult and said the experience became part of the emotional foundation behind his music.

“A long time friend who was my ex-girlfriend that has parted ways with me is still the person I miss,” Garvey said.

That experience also shaped the earlier project “Morning After,” which Garvey connected directly to the relationship and the feeling of missing someone who had once been important in his life.

For Garvey, however, the music is not only about looking backward. His broader message centers on purpose, faith and the idea that people should pay attention to the direction they feel called toward.

“The message I hope people take away from this is that people have a purpose,” he said. “While you’re sleeping, God gives you visions and we all should follow them.”

He also sees music itself as something that can give people strength.

“I feel like people should take away the fact that music is empowering,” Garvey said.

Using AI to Make the Dream Real

Garvey’s path into music has also been shaped by AI-assisted creation. Rather than viewing the technology as something that diminished the experience, he describes it as the tool that allowed him to finally act on an ambition he had already carried with him.

“This platform was absolutely real and helpful, a dream come true,” he said.

He added that AI helped turn something that had previously felt out of reach into an actual creative process.

“AI has made a dream come true for me when it comes to music and I’m grateful,” Garvey said.

That perspective reflects a broader shift happening among independent creators who may have ideas, lyrics or a clear artistic direction but do not necessarily have access to the traditional infrastructure required to produce and release music.

For Garvey, the important part is what the technology enabled him to do: move from imagining himself making music to actually releasing it.

More Than a Money Goal

Garvey says he would like to become successful, but commercial success is not the only reason he started.

“I’m hoping to become successful, but this wasn’t just about money,” he said. “It was about a dream job.”

For now, Garvey is taking the process one release at a time. He says he may continue making more music, but reaching this point already represents something significant for him.

“I really think I might do more,” he said. “But right now, this was already my dream job altogether.”

With “Christian Time,” Garvey continues building a project rooted in faith and personal experience. The single reflects the same themes that have shaped his journey so far: loss, belief, purpose and the idea that a long-held creative ambition can become real once someone finally decides to follow it.
