This surprise release represents a significant milestone for the band as they continue their evolution in the gaming soundtrack space. It also delivers new material to their dedicated fanbase.

Louder Sound reported that the track was released on April 23, 2026, and is available on all streaming services. The song serves as a collaboration with the role-playing video game Diablo IV and its expansion pack. This demonstrates Korn’s continued engagement with multimedia entertainment projects.

The release holds particular significance as it marks Korn’s first studio recording without founding bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu. Revolver Magazine noted that Roberto “Ra” Díaz has been handling bass duties for live performances since late 2021. This represents a new chapter in the band’s musical journey.

Production duties for “Reward the Scars” were handled by Nick Raskulinecz, bringing his expertise to this latest Korn offering. Metal Injection confirmed that the song arrives as part of the soundtrack for the upcoming Diablo IV: Lord Of Hatred expansion. The expansion is set to launch on April 28 across major gaming platforms including consoles and Windows.

The timing of this release aligns perfectly with the gaming expansion’s launch. This creates a synergistic relationship between Korn’s heavy sound and the dark, atmospheric world of Diablo IV. This collaboration continues the band’s exploration of cross-media partnerships. It also provides fans with their first taste of new Korn material in nearly four years.
