In a new interview with Kerrang!, Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach and guitarist Adam D talked about the band’s upcoming new album ‘This Consequence’ and revealed they almost replaced Leach while recording their previous album, ‘Atonement.’
“Adam’s a great producer,” said the frontman about his bandmate. “He knows I’m a sensitive little flower. He knows how to handle me because he’s seen me in the studio, having total meltdowns. At the time, I was giving these guys my best and it wasn’t doing anything. I really had a moment there. I remember going for a long walk in the woods and thinking to myself, ‘Sh*t, dude, is this it?’”
“I wasn’t worried about your lyrics,” the guitarist told Leach during the chat and added, “I was worried about your vocals. I was like, ‘Crap – we’ve got to get a new singer!’”
KSE announced their upcoming album on November 20, the day they released a new single from the album, titled ‘Forever Aligned.’ The album will be released on February 21st, continuing the band’s work with Metal Blade Records.
This announcement comes as part of what looks like a busy 2025 for Killswitch Engage. The band has also confirmed a major North American tour with Kublai Khan TX, Fit For A King, and Frozen Soul, scheduled for next spring. As part of the 2025 plans, the tour will give fans their first chance to hear new songs from ‘This Consequence’ in the band’s live shows.
Starting the next chapter, Killswitch Engage premiered the first single from ‘This Consequence’ on Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal on November 19th.
