The singer reposted this story on his official X account without any caption. Rock was a special guest at Bryan’s birthday party in Nashville on February 8. He performed ‘Proud Mary’ with a band that included Bryan on keyboards.
At first, everything was fine, and the band sounded good, according to fan videos. But things went wrong when Rock asked the crowd to clap along. Some fans clapped, but many others were dancing, filming, or talking. The singer stopped the band and said, “F*ck them. F*ck them. Hey, hey, stop. If you ain’t gonna clap, we [ain’t] gonna sing. That’s how it’s gonna go.”
He showed the audience what he meant, clapping along to the song as he explained, “Don’t get too fast.” The performance continued for a minute, but fans still weren’t clapping enough.
Rock stopped again, turned, and walked off stage, saying, “You know what, f*ck y’all. You ain’t gonna clap, I’m gone.” The Sun posted a video of the moment and said Rock didn’t come back to the stage, but the band kept playing.
Kid Rock recently made headlines for flirting with BBC reporter Caitriona Perry during an interview. He joked about skiing with her and said, “You sound sexy, you want to go with me?” Perry hesitated and replied, “We’re doing no skiing today, we’ve got a day of broadcasting to do.”
Rock will tour this spring for his Rock the Country festival. He’ll headline with Nickelback, Hank Williams Jr., and Lynyrd Skynyrd, along with acts like Travis Tritt and Tracy Lawrence. The festival will visit 10 small towns over 10 weekends in the U.S.
