In a recent interview with Kyle Meredith, Keanu Reeves shared his thoughts on the comeback of Dogstar, revealing why the band chose to come back after years of hiatus.
When asked about how it felt to reunite the act and return to stages after twenty years, Reeves responded with the following statement:
“It’s been fun, it’s been really creative, and for me, it’s super special to be able to play music with these guys. For me, that’s part of it, as we kind of were playing over the years. Formally, it was cool just in the past few years to- We’ve all changed a lot, but there is a lot of us; a lot about us is the same, but there’s also a lot different musically, and I can speak for myself, more time with the instruments, so it was just really cool to see, kind of present where we are now.”
Dogstar broke up in 2002 and released two EPs before their break up. The band first revealed their comeback in early May with a few Instagram videos of their studio sessions. They also recently released an official announcement that they are back and shared their tour dates alongside.
The band is preparing to launch their latest album titled ‘Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees.’ They have already released a music video for the single ‘Everything Turns Around,’ and the album is scheduled to release on October 6. Reeves intends for the new song to ‘brighten people’s day’ with its ‘uplifting message.’
