Dogstar, featuring Keanu Reeves on the bass, is set to make a triumphant return after 23 long years. Known for their grunge sound, the band quietly reunited last summer and has been working hard in the studio ever since.
Initially formed in the mid-1990s, Dogstar released two albums, 1996’s ‘Our Little Visionary’ and 2000’s Happy Ending, before disbanding in 2002. After reuniting last summer, the band has been actively working on new material and planning live shows for their eager fans.
Recently, Dogstar shared a post on their Instagram to express their gratitude for the positive response and support from their followers. Surprised by the fans’ anticipation, they then shared plans to release new music this summer, accompanied by a music video for their first single, and live gigs to follow. The band promises to keep fans updated as details are ironed out.
Dogstar’s Instagram post read:
“Last set up on the roof in Lincoln Heights for Dogstar photo shoot. Exciting news coming soon. Thanks for being so patient.”
In the comments section, the band gave a further update:
“Thank you, everyone, for the kind comments. We are overjoyed to see such a response. Honestly, didn’t expect this. It makes us want to play out even more. We will be rolling out some new music this summer, followed by some gigs. As soon as it’s all figured out, we will let everyone know immediately.
So much to do, but rest assured, we are on it and have assembled a fantastic team that are helping us. We are also going to make a music video to support our first tune. That’s all I can say now. Can’t wait to share our new music with everyone. It’s the most satisfying and meaningful batch of songs we’ve ever done. Thanks again for being so patient with us. We truly have the best, most loyal fans!”
As Dogstar gears up for their comeback, fans eagerly await the new music and the chance to see them perform live once more. With Reeves’ star power and the band’s passion for their craft, this is sure to be a rockin’ return worth waiting for.
