Journey recently announced the addition of 40 new shows to their Final Frontier tour following reports that vocalist Arnel Pineda wanted to leave the band. Pineda subsequently issued a statement addressing his critics, as reported on Instagram.

The band’s announcement focused on expanding their tour dates across multiple cities and venues.

“Dear Friends! More cities. More nights. More JOURNEY. 40 new dates added,” Journey announced.

Following the tour expansion news, Pineda addressed negative comments and criticism he has received from some fans and detractors.

“I won’t and will never ever allow you haters, bashers, negatives, bigots, racists, cowards, unkind and ungodly people steal my joy, peace and happiness.. nor will I let you define the real me and the purpose I serve in this world by picking me as your favorite effed up clown in your lives just cause my imperfection entertains you in a cruel way,” Pineda said.

The vocalist concluded his message with a note of forgiveness and hope for his critics.

“But oh yeah, I forgive you still and here’s hoping that may you find God in your heart and soul one day…praying for all of you,” he continued.

However, contrary to reports of Pineda’s potential departure, recent official announcements suggest the vocalist remains firmly committed to the band’s ongoing tour plans.

Ultimate Classic Rock reported that Journey officially announced 40 additional North American dates for their Final Frontier Tour on May 12, 2026. Pineda was explicitly listed as the current lead vocalist alongside the rest of the band’s lineup. The expanded tour leg begins September 12, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and concludes November 28, 2026, at Chase Center in San Francisco, marking a hometown finale for the legendary rock band.

The tour expansion comes as a response to overwhelming fan demand. Parade noted that the additional dates are being presented by AEG Presents as “An Evening With Journey” format, featuring no opening acts. Tickets for the new dates went on sale to the general public on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM local time. Citi cardmembers received early access starting Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

The Final Frontier Tour, billed as a farewell run, has been one of the most anticipated concert series of 2026. Rogers Place confirmed that the tour includes major stops across North America. Venues range from arenas in Tampa and Jacksonville to iconic locations like TD Garden in Boston and American Airlines Center in Dallas. The comprehensive tour schedule spans from May through November 2026, demonstrating the band’s commitment to reaching fans across multiple markets.

Pineda, who joined Journey in 2007, has been a central figure in the band’s continued success over nearly two decades. Climate Pledge Arena detailed that the current lineup includes Neal Schon on lead guitar, Jonathan Cain on keyboards and guitar with backing vocals, Deen Castronovo on drums and vocals, Jason Derlatka on keyboards and vocals, and Todd Jensen on bass and vocals. There is no indication of lineup changes despite the earlier speculation about Pineda’s status with the band.
