The Foo Fighters drummer commented on the incident with characteristic humor, referencing Jones’ punk rock legacy.

“I don’t know about you, but I like knowing the guitarist of the Sex Pistols is still walking the walk,” Freese wrote about Steve Jones’ video.

The lighthearted exchange between the two musicians highlights the enduring camaraderie within the rock community, even when poking fun at each other’s mishaps.

Jones’ physical struggles captured in the video may be connected to his recent health challenges. Classics du Jour reported that the Sex Pistols guitarist suffered a serious heart attack in late 2019 that resulted in two stents being placed in his heart. He described his recovery as slow and challenging, which could explain some of the mobility issues seen in Freese’s shared video.

The 69-year-old musician has faced multiple health setbacks over the years. He revealed his heart surgery ordeal on his radio show, Jonesy’s Jukebox. He also shared that he had previously battled Bell’s Palsy and other health complications that affected his daily life.

Beyond his punk rock legacy, Jones has maintained a diverse career in the entertainment industry. Wikipedia documented that after the Sex Pistols split, he collaborated with notable artists including Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, and Johnny Thunders. This showcased his versatility as a musician beyond the punk scene.

Jones later transitioned into radio broadcasting, becoming a well-known host on Los Angeles’ KLOS station. Sex Pistols Official noted that his show Jonesy’s Jukebox gained popularity for its eclectic music selections and Jones’ characteristically light-hearted presenting style. This proved that his punk attitude translated well to the airwaves.
