John Stamos recently detailed how he and Taylor Hawkins bonded over drumming during a Q&A session on InStyle’s YouTube channel. He also exclusively shared a video sent to him by Hawkins.

The ‘Full House’ star’s friendship with the late drummer came up while he talked about his musical influences. As Stamos is also a semi-performing drummer, he named Hawkins an influence and detailed how their bond led to a ‘private drumming club.’ He recalled:

“Taylor Hawkins lived down the street, and he died not long ago; you know, [he was] the Foo Fighters drummer. Right before the pandemic, we’d send drumming videos back and forth to each other, [saying], ‘Here, you [should] learn this lick.'”

Stamos then showed one of the videos Hawkins had sent over to him, which featured the Foo Fighters rocker drumming and giving musical advice to him. In the short clip, Taylor is seen as saying:

“‘I don’t know what you’d call it, [gets on his drumming kit]; its some sort of inverted triplet [starts drumming and showing the lick].”

The actor’s upcoming memoir, ‘If You Would Have Told Me,’ is hitting the shelves on October 24. You can watch his full Q&A and Hawkins’ video down below.
