Skid Row revealed the new vocalist in an official announcement that included a video of the band performing a cover of The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”

Skid Row’s announcement reads: “New blood. Same attitude. Meet Justin Sargent, the new voice of Skid Row! Watch our new video covering The Who’s anthem ‘WON’T GET FOOLED AGAIN’!”

Corabi offered his support for the new singer. “Congrats Justin! Crank it!” he wrote.

The announcement comes after Skid Row spent two years looking for a replacement for Grönwall.

Sargent is a singer and actor with experience on Broadway. He has performed in productions including Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, Rock of Ages, and Bonnie and Clyde. Born in Murphysboro, Illinois and raised in Florida, Sargent has performed alongside music legends including John Legend, Alice Cooper, Sara Bareilles, Dee Snider, Kip Winger, Graham Russell, and has been a guest singer with Air Supply.

Erik Grönwall departed from Skid Row in March 2024 for health reasons. The Swedish musician, diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in March 2021, said it had become increasingly difficult to prioritize his health and full recovery as the band’s lead singer. Grönwall was Skid Row’s fourth frontman since Sebastian Bach’s departure.

Corabi served as the lead singer of Mötley Crüe from 1992 to 1996, replacing Vince Neil in that role. His reaction to Sargent’s appointment continues the tradition of hard rock musicians supporting one another during major transitions within established bands.
