Unfortunately, this triggered a relapse in Tyler’s addiction, prompting him to voluntarily enter rehab to focus on his health and recovery. This situation led Aerosmith to cancel their Las Vegas residency on December 8.
In a recent conversation, Joe Perry provided insight into the severity of Steven Tyler’s foot injury, emphasizing the immense pain and discomfort the vocalist experienced. Perry shared that it was nearly impossible for Tyler to stand due to the extreme nature of the injury, which proved to be a very tough time for the singer. With Tyler making significant progress, the band is now looking forward to their upcoming tour plans.
Joe Perry said:
“He’s doing really well. He had surgeries on his foot and it was really a lot. It was almost impossible for him to stand. It was tough. So anyway, he’s doing really well though. Talked to him a bunch over the last bunch of months and he’s doing great actually. Right now we’re ready to launch a tour of the States in September. That’s what we’re planning right now so we’re getting ready to go again.”
Despite the difficult ordeal Steven Tyler has faced, Joe Perry reassures fans that the singer is doing well and making great progress in his recovery. Furthermore, Aerosmith is now looking forward to hitting the road once again, with plans to launch a tour of the United States in September 2023.
