Kansas violinist Joe Deninzon recently spoke to Sonic Perspectives about Kansas and the band’s future plans. Deninzon, who recently joined Kansas, was asked if there’s any upcoming new music. The violinist started by talking about his other band Stratospheerius, and Kansas’ tour, and said:

“[Kansas] said good things about my writing because they’ve heard the work I do with Stratospheerius. I think if I never had Stratospheerius, I don’t know if I would have been invited to join Kansas. They are gonna tour through the end of January, and it might even be extended.”

He confirmed the possibility of new music and said:

“But there’s hints about writing a new record, so let’s see what happens. I would love to be involved in that, to whatever degree they would take to have me involved, but nothing is off the table, let’s put it that way.”

Deninzon has been playing with Stratospheerius for many years, and was recently announced to have joined Kansas to replace their former violinist, David Ragsdale, who left the band for personal reasons.

With the release of the 50th-anniversary tour, Deninzon played his first performance with the band on June 2, and the tour will continue until January.
