Joan Jett And The Blackhearts have announced their first UK headline tour in 16 years, marking a significant return to British stages for the rock icon. The announcement was made through a statement shared on Instagram.
The announcement highlighted the band’s excitement about returning to perform in the UK after such an extended absence.
“NEW UK DATES: This will be our first headlining UK tour in 16 years! Tix & pre-sale info linked in bio, general on-sale Friday 24/4 10am,” Joan Jett said.
The rock legend also reflected on her personal connection to the UK music scene.
“We can’t wait to be back on stage in the UK this Summer! I wrote and recorded Bad Reputation, my first solo LP in London,” she continued. “It’s been too long since we’ve been in the UK and we’re excited to see everyone!”
Tickets for the tour will go on general sale Friday, April 24th at 10am. Pre-sale information is available through the band’s social media channels.
The tour details reveal an ambitious five-date schedule across major UK cities this summer.
Louder Sound reported that the tour kicks off July 2 at Glasgow O2 Academy. The tour continues with Manchester Academy on July 4, Leeds O2 Academy on July 5, Wolverhampton Civic Hall on July 7, and wraps at London’s British Airways ARC on July 8.
The timing of this tour holds special significance for Jett’s career trajectory. Her debut solo album “Bad Reputation,” which she mentioned recording in London, was released in 1980 and became a defining moment in rock history. The album’s title track remains one of her most recognizable anthems and helped establish her as a pioneering female force in rock music.
Following the UK dates, Big Hits 98.1 confirmed that Jett will support My Chemical Romance at Wembley Stadium on July 10. This adds another high-profile performance to her summer schedule.
The 16-year gap between UK headline tours represents one of the longest periods Jett has been away from British stages as a headlining act. Sonic Abuse noted that the July 2026 tour will culminate with a grand finale at London’s British Airways ARC. This brings her full circle to the city where she recorded her breakthrough solo work.
