In a recent Facebook post, Jeff Scott Soto discussed his last collaboration with Yngwie Malmsteen before their disagreements.

Sharing the cover of Malmsteen’s 1996 album ‘Inspiration,’ the singer wrote:

“27 years ago today, I sang what would be my last vocals with/for Yngwie. Marcel Jacob was in the US as we were working on the first Human Clay album, which Yngwie guested on. We bartered services in Marcel and I appearing on this album; I was on three songs, actually.”

He further detailed that period, explaining:

“We both flew to Miami together, and all 3 of us were crazy ill; instead of boozing it up until we passed out, we were all sipping hot tea and throwing back lozenges, watching Monty Python and truly bonding without the traditional RNR excesses.”

Soto revealed the rest of the recording process:

“I remember leaving the guys in the living room and going into Yngwie’s studio to track vocals; then, I would ask them to come in and listen as we all blew our snotty noses and approved my efforts. It was truly one of the more normal and memorable moments we ever spent together; the results are right here on this record!”

After Jeff parted ways with Malmsteen after ‘Inspiration,’ the two have shared a troubled relationship, as they’ve targeted each other with harsh words in later years. One of the recent arguments began when Soto posted on Facebook, saying that he was asked to leave the guitarist’s concert in May 2022.

The singer explained he was at the club to see an opening band and didn’t plan to stay for Malmsteen’s performance. However, someone informed him that the show wouldn’t start if he stayed at the venue. Still, Malmsteen disagreed with Soto’s claims, saying that he fabricated stories to stay in the spotlight.

However, in a recent interview with Chuck Shute, Jeff offered Yngwie a chance to make peace, saying:

“I mean, I’m not chasing it; I’m not going to go even to the point of bothering somebody like, ‘Oh my God, leave me alone already.’ There’re little hints and little things that I put out there to make sure that he knows I want peace; I just want peace with him.”
