Foreigner’s bassist Jeff Pilson recently sat down with Misplaced Straws for an interview and shared news of upcoming 2025 concerts for the band.

The End Machine, an American supergroup featuring Pilson and George Lynch, among others, announced their third album, ‘The Quantum Phase,’ set for release in March 2024. Amidst discussions of a potential tour with the End Machine, Pilson expressed both the pressure and desire to perform live, stating:

“There’s certainly pressure to do so. There’s certainly the desire to do so a lot. The reality is, yes, my year is pretty packed, as is George’s and Girish’s in India; that’s his home. Steve [Brown] has a busy year with Tesla. So playing live would be difficult this year, but having said that we do want to play live really bad. In 2025, both George and I, our schedules will open up a bit. Foreigner’s not going away. There will be Foreigner shows in  2025, but there won’t be that long nine months of touring, which is great.”

Opening Up For New Opportunities

The musician went on to talk about his greater flexibility for new projects:

“This means I can have a more open schedule and, and be more available if the situations and opportunities arise. Now, the logistics to make that happen are still really difficult, even if my schedule were wide open. It’s not like George is going to do nothing. He’s going to have to do other things. So, the desire is there. The possibility becomes a little greater in 2025, I believe, but the desire is there. So we’re, we’re working on it. I’d love to make it happen, but I would never promise anything because it is a logistical nightmare. It really is.”

Foreigner’s Future After The Farewell Tour

Pilson clarified in a conversation with Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio that Foreigner’s ongoing farewell tour, which began in July 2023, doesn’t mark the end of the band’s musical journey. He explained:

“This is year two of the farewell tour, yes. And it doesn’t mean we’re going away. It just means this is the end of the nine-months-on-the-road kind of touring. So that’s why it’s a farewell tour. I mean, we’ll still be there.”

Foreigner’s farewell tour began in 2023 and will continue in 2024 with multiple concerts featuring shows with Styx. A unique set of performances named Feels Like The Last Time Farewell Tour will take place at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas. Also, in 2024, Foreigner is nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
