Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix recently revealed details about the band’s upcoming track. He described it as their most nu-metal song to date in an interview with Magenta TV.
The vocalist discussed the band’s new song “Clickbait” and its heavy nu-metal influences during their appearance at Wacken Open Air 2025.
“We’ve got another track we just finished up called ‘Clickbait’, and it’s the most ‘nü-metal’ song we’ve ever written in our career, even from back in 2000,” Shaddix said.
The frontman expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming release. He highlighted the track’s unique energy.
“It’s got this vibe about it that’s just — it’s on another level, man,” he continued. “I’m excited for the fans to hear that one.”
This announcement comes as Papa Roach continues to build momentum with their recent releases and upcoming projects.
The band has been actively working on new material throughout 2025. WMMR reported that Shaddix revealed another new single will be released before the end of 2025. This indicates the band’s intent to continue sharing fresh material throughout the year.
The new album featuring “Clickbait” is expected to arrive sometime in 2026. Metal Anarchy noted that the band is taking their time to craft the record. They want to ensure it meets their high standards for their return to nu-metal territory.
Papa Roach has been celebrating significant radio success recently. WMMR confirmed they released an acoustic version of “Even If It Kills Me.” This song reached number one on U.S. Rock Radio, marking their 13th single to achieve this milestone.
This return to their nu-metal roots with “Clickbait” represents a full-circle moment for the band. It harks back to their breakthrough era from the early 2000s when they helped define the genre alongside bands like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit.
