The baby girl’s name pays tribute to her famous grandfather, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. It also incorporates the name Matilda.

The birth of Ozzy Matilda marks a significant milestone for the Osbourne family, adding another generation to the rock and roll legacy. Jack and his wife Aree have been building their family together since their marriage in 2022. Their relationship began with their engagement in 2021.

Ozzy Matilda Osbourne was born on February 28, 2026. She represents Jack’s third daughter with wife Aree Gearhart. The couple’s other children include Pearl, born in April 2019, and Minnie Theodora, born in February 2022. Jack has been open about how his family provides crucial support as he manages his multiple sclerosis diagnosis from 2012. He often shares glimpses of their private life on social media while maintaining a focus on family values.

The timing of the birth announcement comes during a period of renewed activity for grandfather Ozzy Osbourne, despite his ongoing health challenges. The Black Sabbath frontman continues to manage Parkinson’s disease, which was publicly disclosed in 2020. He also deals with complications from a 2019 fall and subsequent spinal surgery. In late 2025, Ozzy underwent neck surgery to address ongoing pain from his earlier injuries. He described the procedure as “brutal” but ultimately successful.

Despite his health struggles, Ozzy has remained active in the music world. He made a rare public appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards in February, where he performed briefly with Black Sabbath bandmate Geezer Butler. The rock legend has also been working in the studio, teasing new solo music and Black Sabbath archival releases planned for 2026. His wife Sharon Osbourne reported in January 2026 interviews that he’s “in good spirits” but limits travel due to his health conditions. No major setbacks have been reported since his recent surgery.

The choice to name the baby after her grandfather reflects the strong family bonds within the Osbourne clan. It continues a tradition of honoring family members while creating new chapters in their storied legacy. Jack’s announcement on March 9, 2026, was met with an outpouring of support from fans and family members alike, celebrating the healthy arrival of the newest member of rock royalty.
