Well-known actor Jack Black shared a post on his Instagram account stating that he was devastated after he learned about his longtime friend, ‘School of Rock’ star Kevin Clark’s unexpected death. Jack Black also sent his love and respect to Clark’s fans and family.

As you may know, ‘School of Rock’ is a comedy film which was released in 2003 and directed by Richard Linklater. The film consisted of Jack Black, Joan Cusack, Mike White, Sarah Silverman, and late actor Kevin Clark. It presents a rock musician named Dewey Finn who is fired from his band and starts working as a substitute teacher at a prep school. Dewey wants to form a new band from prep school kids to join Battle of the Bands.

Dewey takes Zack Mooneyham as the lead guitarist, Freddy Jones as the drummer, Katie on bass, Lawrence as the keyboardist, and himself as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Kevin Clark played the role of Freddy Jones when he was at the age of 14. However, Clark didn’t participate in any other films, instead, he continued his musical career as a professional drummer in different bands of Chicago, such as Jess Bess and the Intentions.

Recently, it was reported that ‘School of Rock’ star Kevin Clark was hit by a car while he was riding his bike in Northwest of Chicago, on May 26, 2021. He was immediately taken to the hospital but unfortunately, he passed away. His former co-star and longtime friend, Jack Black paid tribute to Kevin Clark and reflected his sadness by sharing a photo of them which included their ‘School of Rock’ time and its reunion in his Instagram account.

Here’s what Jack Black wrote in the caption of his post:

Devastating news. Kevin is gone. Way too soon. Beautiful soul. So many great memories. Heartbroken. Sending love to his family and the whole School of Rock community.”
