In This Moment singer Maria Brink joined an exclusive interview with Revolver to talk about her vocal heroes. In the interview, Brink mentioned Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and sent him a message about a possible collaboration in the future. Maria stated in her message to Reznor:
“If I could work with anyone, and write music and bring it to life with them, it would probably be Trent Reznor. I have so much respect for him on so many different levels. He recently did an album with Halsey, and I was just so envious of her. Though I’d also be intimidated to do it because when you hold somebody on such a high pedestal, you don’t want ’em to ruin it for you, right?”
Since Reznor is known for his positive attitude toward collaboration offers from different artists, Brink’s public message might result in a new project between the two. Reznor’s most recent collaboration was with the pop star Halsey. The Nine Inch Nails singer is credited as the producer of Halsey’s fourth studio album, ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.’
Maria Brink Collaborated With Judas Priest’s Rob Halford
In This Moment released their sixth studio album, ‘Ritual,’ back in 2017. The album featured one of Brink’s dream collaborations, a song with Rob Halford. The Judas Priest frontman joined Maria in the song titled ‘Black Wedding.’ In a previous interview with Songfacts, the frontwoman explained what an honor she had to work with Halford. Brink stated:
“We love him. It was a huge honor to work with him. He’s such an amazing guy. It was always emotional and weird for me to work with writers, because we didn’t do it quite often. We did it on our new album with Tyler Bates, but we wanted to do that. We chose that. So, when other people are trying to have us work with writers, to me, it’s an uncomfortable feeling. I don’t like to be told what to do or how to sing something.”
As one of the rising female voices of metal music, Maria Brink is a name that many rock singers would like to collaborate with. Although Trent Reznor’s opinion on a possible collab with In This Moment is unclear, the fans have high hopes for a project between Brink and Reznor.
