Guns N’ Roses keyboardist Melissa Reese has shared her first public message after stepping down from the band’s spring tour. She expressed gratitude for fan support in a statement posted on Instagram.

The message addressed the overwhelming response she received from fans following the announcement of her temporary departure from touring duties.

“Hey everyone. The insane amount of messages of support I’ve received has floored me. They are everything during this time and have been so touching,” Reese said.

She went on to express her appreciation for her bandmates and the space they’ve given her during this period.

“I love my Guns N’ Roses bandmily so effing much. There aren’t words for how much gratitude and appreciation I have for them tbh. I thank them and thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving me space while I sort stuff out,” she continued.

Reese also provided an update on her future plans and social media presence.

“I’ll still be posting — just focusing on the happier non- yucky side of things (for everyone’s sake hahahaha). I’m working on it, I promise. I truly hope to see you all sooner than later,” she added.

Reese’s departure marks a significant moment for the band. She had been an integral part of their touring lineup for nearly a decade.

Louder Sound reported that Reese joined Guns N’ Roses in 2016 as second keyboardist alongside Dizzy Reed. She had been a permanent fixture in the touring lineup since then. Her addition to the band came during a period of renewed activity for the legendary rock group.

Reese had established herself as a versatile musician in the industry prior to her role with Guns N’ Roses. Parade noted that she had worked with notable artists including Bootsy Collins, Chuck D, Vanessa Carlton, and Taylor Swift. This showcased her diverse musical background. She also collaborated with former Guns N’ Roses members guitarist Buckethead and drummer Bryan “Brain” Mantia on two albums. This created connections within the band’s extended musical family.

The timing of Reese’s announcement comes shortly after the band launched their 2026 world tour. Louder Sound revealed that the band’s announcement of Reese’s departure came shortly after they kicked off their 2026 world tour with their first show of the year at Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico, on March 28.

The band continues their tour without their longtime keyboardist. No replacement has been announced to fill her position. The departure of Reese, who was the band’s only female member, represents a notable change for Guns N’ Roses as they move forward with their touring commitments.
