Grimes recently took to her X account to share her thoughts about a new AI product called ‘Rewind Pendant,’ which is a wearable necklace-like gadget that records everything you say at all times. The singer, who has three children with Elon Musk, recently sued him over ‘parental relationship,’ and after that, she discussed the connection between such gadgets and abusive relationships.

Grimes has been open about the ‘abuse’ she experienced, so she shared her take on the product and wrote:

“I feel like a lot of the people making this stuff have either never been in an abusive relationship or don’t have kids and aren’t thinking of the impact constant surveillance has on child development.”

The singer had spoken to biographer Walter Isaacson earlier about her relationship with the Tesla CEO and described his ‘abusive’ tendencies by saying:

“He’s attracted to chaotic evil. It’s about his father and what he grew up with, and he’s quick to fall back into being treated badly. He associates love with being mean or abusive.”

After Grimes wrote that she wasn’t on board with ‘Rewind Pendant,’ she also said that she might very well be ‘wrong’ and that it might actually be a useful invention. She wrote:

“I could be wrong though, interesting short story ‘The Truth of Fact, the Truth of Feeling’ by Ted Chiang is good and basically about this invention.”
