Green Day Singer Billie Joe Armstrong’s Car Gets Stolen

Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong recently gave the bad news to his fans and friends, saying that his vintage car, 1962 Chevy II, was stolen on his official Twitter account. Armstrong shared his car’s photos and asked his fans to post them as well so that he can find it.

Billie Joe Armstrong is interested in classic cars even though he hasn’t revealed this in his previous interviews. Green Day’s fans realized that Armstrong’s also has a classic car collection, including a 1963 Chevrolet Nova SS, 1969 Fiat 500 Soft Top, 1961 Chevy Corvair Greenbrier van, 1972 BMW 2002tii, 1968 Mercury Monterey, and more, after he decided to sell some of them.

The sale took place in Russo and Steele’s Annual Collector Automobile auction in Monterey, California, in 2018, but there wasn’t any specific information about the buyers. However, Armstrong continued to drive classic cars instead of getting a Porsche, Jaguar, or Lamborghini, as he was seen with his 1968 Mercury Monterey many times. As a passionate motorhead, Armstrong was shocked and sad to lose his car.

In his recent tweet, the Green Day frontman revealed his 1962 Chevy II, which he defined as precious for both the Green Day family and himself, as he has had it for more than thirty years. Unfortunately, the Costa Mesa police haven’t found the thief or thieves yet, so Armstrong asked his fans to share his car’s photos on social media and call the police or 714-754-5280 if they get any info.

Armstrong’s tweet read:

My car was stolen, 1962 Chevy II. This car is near and dear to all our hearts and has been in the GD family for over 30 years. Please send any sighting, tips, or info to the Costa Mesa police. Incident #2015,2016. Please call 714-754-5280, please re-post, and find this car!”
