Goo Goo Dolls singer John Rzeznik is apparently a Genesis fan.

Sitting down with Louder Sound for a new interview, the rocker named the soundtracks of his life. Rzeznik named his favorite album and also revealed that a certain album made him really disappointed. Sharing the album name under ‘my biggest disappointment,’ the lead singer shared:

“I loved Genesis and I loved Peter Gabriel too. I loved them up through ‘Duke.’ I loved that record. It is so emotionally satisfying for me to listen to that album. But at ‘Abacab’ I just went: ‘Ah, I’m done!’ They were so amazing up until then.”

Rzeznik Loves To Voice His Admiration For Gabriel

The latest interview was not the first time Rzeznik shared his admiration for the Genesis lead singer. He has numerously stated Gabriel has been a part of his music life throughout his career. In an earlier interview, Rzeznik named Gabriel’s solo album ‘So,’ and stated that he loved his voice and the soulfulness of his lyrics.

The singer once contributed to a Nicolas Cage movie, ‘City of Angels,’ to record a soundtrack. Well, it turns out Rzeznik did not accept the offer because he liked the movie, but he had heard that Peter Gabriel, too was recording a soundtrack for it:

“[…] One of the reasons I wanted to do a song was because the soundtrack had U2 and Peter Gabriel on it, and I wanted to be on the same piece of plastic as them. It made me feel like I was hob-nobbing with musical royalty. I thought that someday I could show it to my kids – tell them their old man was once on a record with Bono and Peter Gabriel.”
