Genesis Confirms Some Band Members Tested Positive For COVID And Postpones Tour Dates
Genesis saddened the community by announcing the positive test results for COVID-19 among band members which forced them to postpone some of their shows via their official Twitter account.
Back in March 2020, Genesis announced the reunion of the most successful lineup in the band’s history, Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and Mike Rutherford, for ‘The Last Domino? Tour.’
While they were continuing touring in the United Kingdom since last month, the band announced that there are positive test results for COVID-19 within the band members, but didn’t reveal which members got the virus.
Therefore, the band had to postpone the last four United Kingdom shows for a further date. Also, the band stated that all the former tickets are valid and available for the new shows, which will be announced as soon as possible.
Furthermore, Genesis mentioned that this is a really frustrating situation for the band members, they also pointed out that this precaution needed to be made for the sake of the audience as well as the staff.
Here is the official announcement by Genesis:
“Following guidance and advice from the Government, it is with huge regret that the final four shows of Genesis’ Last Domino? Tour have had to be postponed due to positive COVID 19 tests within the band.
We are working to reschedule them as soon as possible and will announce the new dates through our website and social media channels as soon as possible. All tickets will remain valid and ticket holders will be contacted by their ticket providers.
This is a hugely frustrating development for the band who are devastated with this unlucky turn of events. They hate having to take these steps but the safety of the audience and touring crew has to take priority. They look forward to seeing you upon their return.”
