In a recent interview with Loudwire Nights’ Chuck Armstrong, Gavin Rossdale teased the new Bush album coming in 2025.
“We did most of it just before the tour [with Jerry Cantrell],” the frontman revealed. “I felt better to be on that tour knowing that we had in the bank a whole record.”
Rossdale mentioned that after the tour, the band recorded a few more songs for the new album and is now mixing it. He added, “You don’t want to live with the record for like four, five months mixed, because then it’s fixed.”
“We have to just finish all the drums and mix it. That’s really a few weeks and then we’re ready to go,” the singer further shared about the upcoming Bush record.
Rossdale said he’s done his part—writing, singing, and playing guitar—and now the album is in someone else’s hands. He said, “Other people are doing their things. Being around for the mix, that’s a breeze. It’s just fun. It’ll be soon.”
Bush’s next album will be a follow-up to 2022’s ‘The Art of Survival.’ In September, Rossdale confirmed in a chat with UCR that Bush had recorded it. He noted, “We did the record. It’s recorded. Part of my psychiatric process of doing this celebration of the greatest hits [with the ‘Loaded’ compilation and current tour], is to have a new record.”
The vocalist then shared, “It just felt better to have a whole new record, so we recorded 10 new songs. I’m sure we’ll add a couple more. I like the idea that the body of work is done. It feels really good to know where that is and I know how all of those songs would fit into this lineup. It’s interesting, because it’s like having another stable of really strong racehorses that are gently training and being groomed, looked after and fed.”
“I’m super excited about the record, because I feel really proud of it. I wrote a bunch of it and there are some collaborations with the producer we worked with. I made sure and got those out of the way and then did a bunch of stuff myself,” Gavin stated.
Bush is set to perform at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada on February 1.
