On October 28, Enjoy The Ride Records officially launched the vinyl version of the Limp Bizkit classic ‘Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water’ in two limited editions. However, the band’s frontman, Fred Durst, shared a statement on Instagram just after the release and called them ‘fake’ and ‘unofficial.’ The singer also said they would start working on an official version soon.

Limp Bizkit’s third studio album, ‘Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water,’ released in 2000, is considered one of the classic nu-metal records, and it achieved considerable commercial success. More than two decades after the album’s release, Enjoy The Ride Records announced that it was now available on vinyl. Yet apparently, there was a disagreement between the band and the record label.

“Hey, Enjoy The Ride Records, please stop lying to people about the fake unofficial vinyl pressing from Limp Bizkit,” said Fred Durst, calling out the record label. “There is no official vinyl pressing for any Limp Bizkit album at this moment, but will be coming soon from Limp Bizkit only. Just be honest. A for effort, though.”

There was no official statement from the record company in response to Durst’s words, but Fred later shared another Instagram story to let everyone know that he had spoken to the company owner, and they had resolved the issue between themselves, which aroused several questions.

The rocker said, “Hello everyone, I spoke to Ross, who owns this company, and we had a great discussion. Ross had no idea that we had not been contacted or involved with this pressing. Ross is a fan and did his best to do what he thought was cool for you. I respect that, as I do not care anything about the money in regard to this at all.”

“What I care about is the art and being involved with the presentation of our own art,” he continued. “Ross understands that. And for that reason, I give my respect to him. We will definitely let you know when a drop from us is coming, and you will only hear it directly from us first. Enjoy this pressing as Ross guarantees it is of the highest quality standards.”

It seems like everything is now okay between Enjoy The Ride Records and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. Apparently, he wanted to be involved in the process more, so he was a little disappointed when he saw the reissued version created by the company. As he revealed, Limp Bizkit will also be working on a rendition of their own.
