Foo Fighters recently shared some posts to give more information about the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts on the band’s official Twitter account. The band announced that AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson and Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich would be there to pay tribute to Hawkins.

Hawkins suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on March 25, 2022, because of a possible drug-related heart problem, and the drummer’s passing devastated his family, friends, bandmates, and fans worldwide. Foo Fighters canceled all their upcoming live performances to mourn the musician’s passing. Shortly after, his family and the band unveiled the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Shows to show their respect for his musical career and contributions to rock music.

The concerts will be held on September 3 at Wembley Stadium and September 27 at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The initial guests were Stewart Copeland, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Brian May, and Liam Gallagher. After them, Foo Fighters stated that Johnson and Lars Ulrich recently decided to join them for the upcoming shows. In addition to these names, Nikki Sixx, Gene Simmons, Chad Smith, and Sebastian Bach became part of the lineup.

It seems like more and more of Taylor Hawkins’ colleagues will collaborate with Foo Fighters for these special events. Moreover, those who can’t physically attend the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will be able to watch them on different platforms, including Paramount+ for the US, Pluto TV internationally, and MTV’s YouTube channels. Hawkins’ family will use the money they earn from the tickets to support the charities Music Support and MusiCares, which aim to help artists.
